After Care

After your massage you may notice profound changes in your body and mind. So to gain maximum benefit from your treatment the following aftercare advice is recommended;

Relaxation

* Try to rest and relax for the remainder of the day, if not, for a few hours at least.

* You may feel relaxed and tired after a massage. Take care if you are driving or working.

* If you can, take a nap or get in bed early. If you haven't been sleeping well, receiving massage may relax you enough that you will want to turn in and catch up.

* Sometimes people experience some soreness for 24 hours or so after a massage. If you do feel sore or think that you might, stretch gently in a hot shower or take a warm bath with Epsom salts. And remember to tell your massage therapist about your experience so it can be taken into consideration in your next session.

Fluid intake & Diet

* Drink plenty of water after the treatment to replace lost fluids and avoid dehydration. This will help eliminate the toxins from you body. Drinking extra water also seems to help reduce soreness and fatigue after a massage.

* Avoid alcohol, smoking and excessive tea or coffee drinking as this can have dehydrating effect.

* Avoid eating a heavy, spicy meal after the treatment. Eat light for the rest of the day, this will allow you body to concentrate on natural healing and encourage detoxification

Hopi Ear Candling Aftercare

Immediately after treatment you may feel slightly light-headed or nauseous. This is due to the altered balance of fluid in the ears.

The treatment continues to work for 24 to 48 hours. You may experience contra-actions (reactions to the treatment) such as headaches or light popping in the ears, temporary deafness (as wax works its way out of your ears) and more wax than usual coming from your ears.

Gently remove any wax by wiping round the ear NEVER INSERT ANYTHING INTO YOUR EAR!

If any contra-actions persist after 48 hours, please contact your therapist again, as you may require a further session to complete the treatment.
